The Magpie Codex is our flagship product.  It is currently in transition (from 1st edition to 2nd), with the second edition being made available in the next few months.  The game is a tool box for creating complicated settings, characters and monsters with as little time as possible between games.  It’s focused on fast development that can lead to interesting, lush and detailed worlds.

Some details:

• Scale Based Gaming
  Everything is ranked on a five point scale, with the scale sliding up and down and changing every so many levels.  This can create a game whose challange is dynamic and responsive, yet easy to play and memorize.
• Rules that you can fit in your head
  Rules simple enough you don’t have to look them up
• Fast Play and Little Prep Time
  Character creation is fast. Game resolution is fast. Prep times for Game Masters between games is minimal, yet creates a detailed world
• An Open License
  The Magpie Codex will use a new Open License to allow gamers to develop and sell what they create.  Since the Codex is just a toolbox, we feel this is important for growing and maturing the base of players.  The license is twofold: Officially Licensed (who have our seal of approval) and unofficially licsensed (who do not).
